FAQs

If your question is not answered below please contact us.

Do you run safaris all year round?

Yes, we run safaris all year round - there is plenty to see whatever the season..

How much do your safaris cost?

Prices for our safaris are calculated at £30 per hour for up to 2 adults, £5 per hour for each additional adult, and under 16s go free. We will give you an exact price for your safari when you enquire.

How do we pay for a safari?

We don't take payment until after the safari and we can accept cash, bank transfer, Paypal or online card payment.

Can you take children on your safaris?

We welcome children under 16, accompanied by an adult, free of charge. Children under primary school age might find it difficult to concentrate on our longer safaris so please contact us to discuss your requirements if you have younger children.

Can you take dogs on your safaris?

We are happy to take quiet dogs on leads on our safaris.

Are any of your safaris suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs?

A couple of our safaris and workshops are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Please look at the safari descriptions or contact us to discuss your requirements.

Where do your safaris start from?

Different safaris start in different places around the Loch Ewe area. When you book we will give you full details of where and when to meet.

What do we need to bring?

Suitable clothes for the Wester Ross weather (i.e. anything from sunshine to snow!). Some of the paths are rough and uneven so please wear stout shoes or boots. For longer safaris you might like to bring along a drink and snack. If you have binoculars please feel free to bring them but we can lend you a pair if you don't have your own.

What is your cancellation policy?

If we have to cancel a safari for any reason we will let you know as soon as possible. If you cannot come on a safari you have booked it's no problem, but please let us know so that we can offer the date and time to someone else.

Do you cancel if the weather is bad?

If the weather is really bad we would probably cancel or rearrange the safari because it would limit the amount we could see and it's not much fun being outside in lashing rain and gales! However we don't usually cancel safaris just because of a bit of rain or cold weather. What we usually do is modify the safari according to the weather conditions, for example we might spend more time inside a viewing hide or in sheltered woodlands rather than out in the open.

Can you guarantee to see certain species?

There are no guarantees. Wildlife is wild, and doesn't turn up to order. We take you to the places where our local wildlife lives and we will give you lots of information and tips so that you can also go and look for yourself, but if you're just wanting to tick a bucket list then our safaris are not for you!
