About Us

Our Story

Loch Ewe Community Enterprise (LECE) is a Community Benefit Society - a type of not-for-profit organisation that's registered with the Financial Conduct Authority. It's designed to benefit the community as a whole, rather than individual members, with any profits reinvested back into the society.

LECE was set up with the aim of purchasing a redundant industrial unit in the village of Poolewe, to act as a business hub for the surrounding communities.

Like many rural communities, the Loch Ewe area is suffering from depopulation due to lack of affordable homes, shortage of business premises and an over-reliance on a seasonal visitor economy.

Our vision is that a community business park will help to address some of these issues, providing a stable base for year-round business, attracting young families into the area and encouraging entrepreneurs.
